Logo Rebrand to Uniform Rollout

Client: Golden Star Scaffolding
Contact: Josh G.
Project: Brand Simplification, Business Collateral & Uniform Programme

The Challenge

Josh came to us with a logo that was working against him. It had too much detail, and detail is expensive in the trades. A complex mark falls apart at small sizes, costs more to print, adds screens and colours to every uniform run, and gets lost on signage that people are reading from across a work site or out of a car window.

The job wasn't to make the logo prettier. It was to make it simpler, more memorable, and practical to reproduce across everything Golden Star puts its name on, from a shirt pocket to a site banner.

The Process

We treated the rebrand and the uniform rollout as one connected piece of work rather than two separate jobs, so every design decision was made with production in mind from the start.

Key Steps:

  • Consultation & Direction
Sat down with Josh to understand how and where the logo actually gets used day to day, and what he needed it to say about the business. Simplification was the goal, but not at the cost of losing what people already recognised.

  • Logo Development
Developed the new mark through concepting and revision rounds, stripping back the complexity while holding onto the character of the original. Built to work in one colour, at small scale, and in reverse.

  • File Suite & Handover
Delivered a full set of production-ready files so the logo can be handed to any printer, signwriter or supplier without rework. (Confirm what you supplied here: vector, colour breakdowns, mono versions?)

  • Business Card Design
Extended the new identity into business cards, keeping the application consistent from day one.

  • Uniform Production
Produced the first run of uniform tees and hoodies, taking the new logo from screen to garment with print placement and sizing set for the way the gear actually gets worn and washed. (Print method and blanks used? Worth naming if the quality is a selling point.)

The Result

The rebrand gave Golden Star a mark that works as hard as the business does. Simple, recognisable, and cheap to reproduce, which matters when you're printing uniforms several times a year.

Since the first run, Josh has come back for three more uniform orders and counting. Because we hold every client's screens and artwork in-house, there are no setup fees on repeat runs, and our low minimums mean he can order small batches when he takes on new crew or needs replacements for a single job. No waiting to justify a big order, no paying twice for the same setup.

That's the model we build with every uniform client. Get the identity right once, then make reordering as easy and as cheap as possible for the years that follow.
