Collection 05 — Better Product, Wider Range

Client: Stay Driven
Founder: Patrick James
Project: Collection 05 — Brand, Apparel & Production Delivery

The Challenge

C4 introduced the first core piece and it worked. C5 was about building on that properly, which meant three things at once: widen the range, lift the product quality, and start treating the brand as something that runs year round rather than in bursts.

It was also the collection where we followed through on the supply chain change we'd committed to. Talking about better product is easy. C5 is where it had to actually show up in someone's hands.

The Process

Key Steps:

  • New Hoodie Supplier and a Real Step Up in Quality
Moved the hoodies to a new supplier and a heavier base. 500gsm heavyweight terry cotton, up from the 420gsm fleece used previously. That's a noticeable difference the moment you pick one up: more structure, more weight, and a garment that holds its shape and its print over time rather than softening off after a few washes. For a brand building a permanent core range, this is the difference between a hoodie people buy once and one they replace when it wears out.

  • New Sew-On Brand Label
Took the initiative on this one. Redesigned Stay Driven's sew-on label around the brand's icon and a flag motif drawn from touring car heritage, giving the inside of the garment the same considered treatment as the outside. Labels are the detail most brands leave as an afterthought, and it's one of the fastest ways a customer reads a product as premium or not.

  • Expanding the Core Range
Added SKUs to the permanent collection so the core is a real range rather than a single piece, with more options available outside of drop windows.

  • New Garment Styles
Introduced the long sleeve, carrying the Race Department print that's become one of the brand's most recognisable graphics. Familiar design, new silhouette.

  • Accessories
Started experimenting outside of garments with pieces like the lube oil service stickers. Low cost, high personality, and exactly the kind of thing that gets used rather than stored. Good entry points for new customers and good add-ons at events.

  • Collection Forecasting & Moodboarding
Planned the full range across core, themed and accessory pieces so the collection held together despite covering more ground than any drop before it.

  • Production & Finishing
Screen printed, relabelled, then picked, folded, bagged and tagged every item individually.

The Result

C5 is the most complete collection Stay Driven has released. Better base product, a wider range, a permanent core that's actually deep enough to shop, and a label detail that lifts every piece it's sewn into.

The growth is coming from the community as much as the product. Hosting a meet alongside each drop has become a core part of how the brand sells, turning releases into events people show up for rather than notifications people scroll past.

Next is forecasting the full 2027 calendar, four drops a year with a new offering each season, so the brand has a rhythm customers can follow and a plan the production side can be built around properly.
